Deepavali weekend

I never waste a chance to go back hometown whenever there is a holiday.
Really miss my family, friends and everything in SP.

I think everyone is the same as me, that's why we end up chasing for bus at Pudu lol......

The crowd chasing the bus, i was lucky that my bus came on time.

Some people waited since 8.30pm and still waiting for the bus at 11.30pm, poor thing.

I prefer late night journey as it takes 5-6 hours to reach SP.
Things to prepare: entertainment, mp3 player, titbits and blanket.

As the movie on laptop can only stands for 2 hours, i need mp3 and titbits as back up.

If i have done all these and still can't fall asleep, then just look up for stars.
Sometimes you can get a superb view of stars blinking in very dark sky, can't get it in KL skyline for sure!

The very busy UTC market.
Meeting up with friends for breakfast and some shopping.

Ah....trapped to give way to the train.

I am thinking of taking train from KL to SP next time.
I must be crazy! The journey takes 10 hours!!
But i am sure it will be a different kind of experience as the train stops at many small towns.
3 days holidays are extremely fast, time to go back KL :-(

View along highway.
There are many haunted stories about this highway!!!

I really like to pass through tunnel because the scene is very much alike the scene in car racing games hehe.
This time, i did something really stupid.
It was said that if you can hold your breath along the tunnel, then you wish will come true.
I hold my breath for 50 seconds and almost suffocate.

Notice this car at Duta toll gate.
Cool!
And here i am, back in KL.
Work work work, shop shop shop, bored bored bored.

One day trip to Seremban

I used to think that Seremban is "san ka la" far from KL.
In fact, the journey only took us 1H++.
First impression of Seremban...not as small as i thought and many things to eat.

It was a fully guided tour by our Seremban leng chai leng lui hehe.
First stop, Pasar Besar Seremban.

"A ne" selling cendul ais.
Amazing! He uses the very very conventional manual ice shredder instead of machine.
Too bad, i can't zoom in any further.

Pasar Besar Seremban is really big...i know i am talking nonsense hehe

Hawker center @ Pasar Besar Seremban

First time to try squid mee hoon, cheap and nice.
Taste a bit like "yun yong". You can't find it in KL.

We had to walk all the way up from the far far end below.

Parts of the temple are still under renovation.

"Siew Pow" is a must if you visit Seremban.
This is MASTER Siew Pow, so don't play play!

Yi Poh "mice tail noodle" is just opposite the "Siew Pow" shop.
Even "Ho Chak" intro this shop before.
But i found the one at Pasar Besar Seremban nicer hehe.

Steam engine in front of Seremban Muzeum.
Never paint your house with black color, it was a bit scary inside the palace.

Seremban Muzeum

Fish feeding at the park @ Seremban 2 was fun!
Dinner...roasted pig palm
It looks like a bear's palm more. Nice!
It was too late for a snap...pig palm, soup in coconut, fish head mee hoon, crabs...gone

A snap for a memorable day. Thanks for touring us around!

One day trip to Malacca

Dear and i went to Malacca to attend a friend's wedding dinner.
The scenery along the highway was dull if compared to the scenery on the way to northern, Kedah. We only saw oil palms and some housing estates along the way.

The journey took about 2H and we met up with friend at A'Famosa resort.
Unfortunately, dear and i do not like theme park and place with entrance fee haha.
We prefer something more natural.

So we headed to Malacca town. We quickly check-in to Orchid Hotel and went around Malacca town. RM165 per night with breakfast for two. Things in the room were rather old. But nothing to complain if you just want to sleep for a night.

It is very easy to drive in Malacca town, all one-way street.
We tried our luck and simply went into one shop for chicken rice ball.

RM3.80 per dish, the best among others that we tried.
But the portion of chicken wing was pathetic.
Dear also ordered his favorite dish, chilly petai with prawns.
Nice smell, the petai was fresh. (how to know, when you eat it, the smell last for days...faint)
Prawns were not so fresh. (how to know, no 'spring' when you eat it)

After the wedding dinner, we headed to Jonker Street.
"Rock sugar gourd" 冰糖葫芦 for RM2
Holding money in hand to buy things hehe.
That uncle is selling "kok kok" candy besides "mua chee".

"Kok Kok" candy, it is really hard.
Cannot chew at all, can only suck it.

Radish cake, long queue to buy it.
Next we headed to Lorong Bunga Raya for cockles.
This stall appears in several TV programs.
We were the last customers.
Pity the people who came after us, went back with dissapointment.
The stall is at the back lane, don't think about hygene...

The cockels were too raw for me.

Squid with kang kung....ok.
Prepare Penang's version.

Pineapple tarts bought at Jonker Street for RM11.
Pay the money and save the trouble of baking.
We would for sure eat out for breakfast if our hotel room was not inclusive of breakfast.
Nothing much to snap on hotel's breakfast....
We went around Malacca town before heading back to KL.

Queueing up for chicken rice.
Imagine, customers queued along the road side...it was so dangerous

Dear likes the chicken, but i still prefer roasted chicken.
Walking distance from the "Red House" to Jonker Street.
So we went for the famous and well advertised Famosa Chicken Rice.
The shop itself is already a gallery, it has a very nice back yard and decorations.

...Miss Chicken Rice Shop...LOL..whatever you want to think haha

Frankly speaking, i couldn't really swallow the brown one.
Made of yam, taste nice, but doesn't look good hehe.

"Kuai Ling Kou" jelly...so bitter

Asam Fish @RM26
It was a short trip and we did not plan for tourist attraction spots.
Kinda bored to go many times.
We missed some food e.g. Cathay Satay Celup and cendol. No more stomach to eat.
Since dear and i are from northern, we prefer Penang food, sour and spicy.
Malacca food (Nyonya food) is mostly sour and can't escape from coconut milk. It is not sour up to our preference i would say.
I want to add something to the English proverb.
Don't trust a book from its cover, don't trust a restaruant from the queue and its blogs reviews haha.
Personally, i didn't find restaurants/stalls with long queue or good review serve extremely nice food.
Follow your instinct for surprises.
