Bye bye Blogspot

Facebook has came out with its Notes application which is much more user friendly and a one stop point to maintain my blog and friends network website. So i am moving my blog to Facebook...bye bye Blogspot.

Monday Blue

I am proud to be Malaysia and proud to me

I used to be a typical Malaysian, i always complain about my own country and think that others are superior.

I thought Petronas Twin Tower is a waste of money for a developing country like us until i realized that people around the world recognize Malaysia in the world map because of this building.

I used to think that MAS is a total failure until i tried other airlines. MAS has the best hospitality and friendliest air crews, one of the best entertainment and food...i mean out of all flight food.

I used to think that PLUS highway toll is too expensive. Although now i still think that the government should take over it, our PLUS highway has the best and straight road condition, and with R&R stops along the way and along Peninsular Malaysia.

I used to think only Malaysians who don't queue at LRT station. Actually, people don't queue in Singapore and London too haha. And their subway is crammed like sardine and stinks too. At least we still queue at certain stations like Kelana Jaya and KLCC haha.

I used to think that Proton is the worst car ever producted until i realized other brands (not all) has the same defects too. And not all people in overseas own a car because they don't have cheap cars to buy. I am trying to think positively for this one hehe.

But there are also things that i think Malaysians should change.
First thing, the way we drive and cut queue. Driving is a challenge in Malaysia; even if you don't drive recklessly, others do. Second, i hope Malaysians should learn to say "thank you", at least for cashiers.

Lastly, feel proud of ourselves and appreciate our home country.

Exciting experience in Puerto Rico

Puerto Rico...the first thing i can think of is pretty girls
That remains a fact until now

My first 2 days in Puerto Rico were full of excitement.
First, was the propeller ride which was pretty much like flying carpet, going up and down.

Then...uninvited guests at Costa Del Sol
2 strangers knocked at my door when i was alone in the apartment.
It made me recall of the robbery happened 2 years ago, which was so scary.
I was tied up and robbed. Still have phobia when someone knock at the door.
Sincerely appreciate my collegues who offered me an accompany and even a night stay at their place.

The next day, some of us got stucked in the lift at 8th floor.
First time in my life.
And we got to climb out from the lift with a big hole waiting for anyone to fall.
Phew....scary!!!

Next,...Mazda 3 but left hand drive

I get to drive Mazda 3 which has more power than my MyVi of course hehe.
But i have problems like going to the wrong side of driver's seat, turn on vipers instead of signal and not used to the direction the vipers wipe haha...kinda weird

No Espanol?
Ya, no Espanol but learning a few basic words.
Pollo = chicken
Salida = Exit
Entre = Enter
Oeste = West
(I spent about an hour, running few rounds between 2 blocks of building trying to figure out the West block. Will remember this word forever haha)

And lastly, i got my first Coach bag hehe

It's time to leave Barbados

This will be my last weekend in Barbados.
I have been here for 1 month plus and it's time to bid good bye to this beautiful island.

Frankly speaking, I have never thought of what kind of places would that be at the other end of this earth from Malaysia. I think i will never come here if not because of work and i will never come back once i leave....air fare is super expensive $$$$

Something that i will miss about Barbados.....
Sky blue sea and icy cold water

Caribbean Chicken and Jacket Potato that i must eat again before i leave

Close to 900 photos taken throughout my stay in Barbados and they captured every moment i have here. Next destination....Puerto Rico!

Bad experience at mamak

I travelled by bus back to SP and reached there about 5am. Not wanted to wake my mum up early in the morning, I headed to P*l*t* Mamak which opens 24 hours.

2 hours to 7am, so I decided to work on my things which have piled up like mountain over the weeks. Unfortunately, the restaurant does not allow diners to use laptops; reason being laptops consume electricity. I offered them that I will pay as I consume, but the answer was still no. Well, I actually argued with them and other customers were watching the drama which was fast reaching the peak. Noticing something wasn’t right; one of the staffs then offered that I can use their power point to charge my laptop for 15 minutes. So I used my precious battery for work and used the remaining battery to write this blog. In return, I ordered teh ais, limau ais and roti canai bawang. I do not want them to make a lost with me ordering a glass of drinks and sitting there for 2 hours.

Let me make a fair comment on this, I do not blame them for not providing a WiFi or power point to the customers although many restaurants and café are providing the service. But I think the restaurant should look at how their competitors react to the market trends. After all, my comments are for their business’s sake.

I hate it when you summon me!!!

I tried to save my precious 60 cents parking today at Section 17, but i ended up got summoned by MPPJ.

Since i only stopped for about 5 mins, i thought i can try my luck not to pay parking.
Afterall, my car was right in front of the shop.
But what the H3LL...the MPPJ officer was so fast, too fast for me to stop him.
Nevertheless, his handheld device has superb response time. With a single press, it printed my summon :(

Aih...paying the summon itself is not as scary as driving to PJ Oldtown to pay summon.
You know that place...you need miracle to find a parking spot and you can see MPPJ draculas everywhere sucking blood.

Sien la...i wish MY is like Barbados where parking is free and available everywhere.

Barbados

Barbados???
Let me check the world map....
Ah...it is in the Caribbean, it is on the equator but it is at another side of the globe, 12 hours difference from Malaysia.

Wait a minute....Caribbean???
You mean Pirates Of The Caribbean???
Yupe yupe!!! Sounds mysterious to me...do i get to see Jack Sparrow??

My journey began....

At the airport

In the flight, 13+8 hours journey

All i remember was eat eat eat, sleep sleep sleep...then i got jet lag for few days

Transiting at London

..and reaching there

The place i stay...
Nice place but no where beats home
Missing home and then I can't stop Skype-ing

I missed out so many things with family and dear, my birthday and Valentine's Day...
But at least i get to celebrate CNY which means a lot to me, family reunion.
I hope i can redeem my presents when i get back to Malaysia hehe

Shopping...
There are many stores of this size, but not one like Tesco or Carefour here
And the biggest shopping mall here, The Sheraton is still smaller than SP's Central Square

Jalan-jalan car makan...
At first i thought i can come to Barbados to slim down, but looking at the portion and ingredients, no no, it is even harder
Bread, rice, cheese, cream are all fattening food...and there is huge shopping complex for me to shop and burning fat at the same time

@Harbour Lights
The first Chinese restaurant i have tried so far.

Look at the food portion, i have problems finishing my food almost every meal.
I had this for lunch and dinner, and bread for breakfast the next day.

Accra Beach at night
This is my second week here and i can't wait to go home!!!

SP (Part 1)

This building is the landmark of SP's bus stand and taxi stand.
It used to be Kota Supermarket before fire ruined the whole building down. Business was good as people would stop by to buy something or to steal some cool air in the air conditioned building. I did that too when i was in my primary school hehe.

Besides Kota Supermakret, i am sure those who was born around year 1980 heard of Warta Supermaket, Rakyat Supermaket, Bersatu Supermaket etc. No Tesco, Carefour and Giant during that time.

SP taxi stand
The taxi stand and bus stand is separted by a two storey complex with food stalls at lower ground and a bunch of driving schools at the top floor.

You can also have riverside view of Sungai Sungai Petani (aka SP River).
Dark and sometimes with smelly water. Not sure if there are crocodiles in the river, but it is easy to see wild Iguanas.

A variety of ice blended drinks, Jagung Kar, Tor Tau Kar and Ang Tao Kar and some other Kar for selection. But these three are the best. And it costs RM1.80 only.

There is another stalls selling Ribbon Pastry behind the ice blended stall.
This stall is famous in SP especially around Chinese New Year.

If you are lazy to make your own cookies, you can either buy the ready made or the ready mixed dough.

There is also another stall selling Beef Keow Teow Soup which my dad loves so much.
But i don't know which stall exactly it is, because i don't take beef and i never follow him for keow teow soup hehe.

T Bowl Restaurant

According to Wikipedia, a bowl is a common open-top container used in many cultures to serve food, and is also used for drinking and storing other items.

According to me, other items means your output. Yes, your output!

So toilet bowl is very obviously a bowl used in toilet to serve your output.

Sorry if i make things sound disgusting hehe.

Last week, bear bear and i went to this concept restaurant in Queensbay, Penang.

I found that the restaurant is very clean. Why not put some "surprise" when someone with itchy hand opens the toilet bowl cover?haha

Well, some jerks thrown rubbish there before i suggest.

Collections of mini toilet bowls.

A different kind of tic-tac-toe

This is bear bear, he gained so much weight recently.
I did hope he lose his appetie visiting this restaurant, but he didn't.

I have no choice but to make this photo blur to hide something...blame the photographer, don't blame the model!

Menu

镇店屎王!!!@ signature dish of sh*t
It is made of sausages actually hehe

Today's special: Toilet bowl baked cheese rice

The real one with bakes cheese, chicken floss and some marinated chicken chunks(卤肉 to be specific, not sure with we have that word in English, paiseh)

Display dish

It is called "dish washer drinks" made of lemon, sprite and sour plum. Nice!

Nice and new experience.
But i am looking for something more disgusting, bizarre and more challenging.
Should try the first concept restaurant of this kind in Taiwan, and some other concept restaurants.

How did SP-lang celebrate new year's eve?

"Fren, SP got what r?"
"Erm...SP got nice people like me loh hehehe, a few food stalls which are recommended by the TV program, some attractions in towns nearby..."

The latest so called hot-spot is around Village Mall and The Carnival loh.
Old Town Cafe is always packed with people, full house!!!
And most of the time, you will bang into ex schoolmates, it is like the unofficial gathering for everyone.

That night, St*rbucks which was empty, so empty.
I guess another outlet to close down, too bad.

Audio blast @ Village Mall

The songs played were a bit "la-la", full base.

Tiger becomes DJ? Cute
Another happening was also Audio Blast @ The Carnival.
I also don't know since when SP people like audio blast.

That's all, nothing much.
